In The Studio

January News

Lots happening since we last updated here! Some highlights: Overdubs and mixing on Rob Mathes’ solo album (rewarding and no small feat!). Work on Sting’s birthday concert, overdubs and mixing for Jennifer Hudson, etc.  Vernon Reid was also in to play on Steve Jenkins’ new solo project. Jamie music directed a 2nd show for Spiegelworld called Empire. It opened in NYC’s Times Square,  is now in Australia, then making its way to Japan and beyond.  JRock recording artist Nick Howard has covered some impressive geography too – he’s recently won The Voice of Germany, and his new album is now #1 on iTunes. In between all this, there’s been a ton of production/mixing work for artists around the globe. We’re also psyched about some cool new gear we’ve added to the studio!

The Latest

Welcome to the new & improved web site of JRock Studios! This page is where you can find out what we’re up to around here. In the last incarnation of our website, we had a running list of who’d been in the studio recently. Here’s a re-cap of that list, in case you missed it: Blondie, John Legend and The Roots, Swizz Beats, Keri Hilson, Jay Sean, Lisa Lisa, Tunde from TV on the Radio, Kid Cudi and Terrance Howard. In the last year, JRock Studios’ artist, Nick Howard, had a song featured on everybody’s favorite guilty pleasure, MTV’s Jersey Shore. Taking Back Sunday’s new album debuted at #4 on iTunes. JRock’s work with Jay Sean was in Billboard’s Top 10. And Reject Pig took pictures with everyone.

In the last few months, we were psyched to see Patrick Stump’s solo effort debut at #5 on iTunes. We had the great pleasure of working with legends Run DMC, Elton John, and the incomparable Rob Mathes. And just the other day, we got back from a tent pitched on the front lawn of Caesar’s Palace, where we worked on a tremendous show called Absinthe. Here are a few photos from the show:
